CandidateQuest Support FAQ
Will CandidateQuest be available for iOS?
We're not sure yet. We're a tiny game developer and supporting two platforms is a lot of extra work. The game exits right after the loading screen! What can I do?
During loading the game attempts to connect to our game server. We then check your device time against the server time to ensure fair play between players. If the game server cannot be reached or if your phone's time is not correctly set the game will exit. Please make sure your device is connected to the internet and your time setting is correct for the time zone you're playing in - most people use the automatic or network time setting in the Android controls to keep this in sync.Does CandidateQuest require a network connection?
Yes. The game needs a network connection to access services including achivements, leaderboards, and timekeeping. Don't worry if you can't open the game when disconnected - it'll keep earning in the background until you reconnect!Did you know the game is only in portrait mode?
Yes. We chose to lock the game to the most popular aspect ratio for one-handed play on a phone. We expect this is how most people will play the game. Why aren't my ads working?
CandidateQuest uses an ad mediation partner, who then reaches out to many individual ad networks to find an ad to display. It is possible that one ormore of those networks may encounter a problem that prevents you from seeing an ad. We have limited ability to improve this area, but please feel free to contact help@metachrome.com to report a persistant issue.Do paid boosts persist through Elector Resets?
No, only your Gold total, your Trophies, and your Elector Bonus will persist through resets. Choose wisely! When can I start an Elector Reset?
Currently the game requires you to have earned at least 30 Electors prior to initiating a reset.Do Elector Reset bonuses stack?
Yes, as noted above your Elector Bonus will persist through resets and each reset adds to the previous bonus level. Is there a maximum Elector Bonus?
Yes, the maximum Elector Bonus is 500%. Boosts may be applied above that amount, but do not persist beyond a Candidate's current progression - ie. when your Candidate reaches the Presidency, any reset will remove the effect of Boosts.Does this game have an end?
Yes. Unlike some other games in the genre CandidateQuest ends when your Candidate achieves the rank of President. Once that happens you will have the ability to reset and play again with that Candidate or choose to play as the opposing Candidate. Winning the Presidency is an epic achievement - as a reward your Elector Count will persist through a Presidential Reset - this is the only way to increase your Elector Count beyond what is possible taking one Candidate to President.Wait? What exactly do I get for making it to President?
The journey is the reward, grasshopper. Haha, no. Actually you'll get the chance to reset the game, taking your Elector Count with you - while gaining some bonuses. What bonuses? Let's just say it should make your next progression easier. Got to leave some mysteries, right? How do I earn all the Trophys / Achievements?
Most will be unlocked in your first full progression to President, but some require advancing multiple Candidates to unlock.I see my Trophies, but one (or more) is not showing up on the Google Play Achievement Panel
It is possible that an individual Achievement update will not make it to the Google Play service. If this has happened to you, please click the relevant Trophy while in game. This will send an update message to Google. If it works you should now see both the local Trophy and the public Achievement. Is Elector Count what's on the Leaderboard?
Yes. In order to climb the ranks you'll need to choose between spending Electors to advance more quickly or keeping them to build your Leaderboard score. Why can't people see my score on the Leaderboard
Check your Google Play Game preferences. By default most people are set to private. If you would like to be visible on the public Leaderboards please see the information here.- Did you know your graphics are ugly/blocky/weird?
We like the pixel-art style we've chosen for the game, though some will not. There are many great games in this genre with a variety of art styles. This one felt right for our game.
